About the Dutch Quilter:
Lennie Honcoop is a popular quilting class teacher and retreat leader, a creative designer, and a talented top quilter who lives in
Pine Grove, California. She uses the name, 'The Dutch Quilter,' because she came from The Netherlands. Lennie has been quilting since 1991 and has used her experience in other art media to apply concepts of color, form, and composition in her quilt designs.
Dutch Quilter Fall Quilt Retreat!
The next Dutch Quilter Quilt Retreat is scheduled for April 19 -24, 2026 (Sunday evening to Friday morning) at the Zephyr Point Presbyterian Conference Center, located at Zephyr Cove, NV. While termed a quilt retreat, it is open to all people who like to sew as there are no formal classes but everyone has the opportunity to bring and work on all new and unfinished projects. Everyone is provided a 6 table at which to work; the quilting/sewing room is located in a large conference room with 2-story windows overlooking Lake Tahoe and the Sierra to the west. Lodging rooms are down the hall from the sewing room; each has at least two queen beds as well as a full bathroom. Meals are provided in a cafeteria in the adjacent building. Prices, which are all inclusive, for the 4+ day retreat are $1290 for single occupancy lodging, $890 for double occupancy lodging, and $755 for triple occupancy lodging. NOTE: After 25+ years of putting on retreats, we have decided to retire. The April 26 Spring retreat will be our last. However, Patty Britton has graciously offered to take over responsibility for putting on the Dutch Quilter retreats and we were happy to accept. Patty will take over beginning with the Fall 26 retreat. We have been told that a number of people want to attend our last retreat April 26. We have a limit of 28 people we can accommodate and, as usual, placing a deposit ($400) guarantees a spot at the retreat, i.e. first come first served. BTW - we already have received 21 deposits for the April 26 retreat.
Hot Ribbon
We were informed earlier this year that the inventor of Hot Ribbon passed away which resulted in an upheaval in the company manufacturing Hot Ribbon. Recently, we received notice that the manufacturer of Hot Ribbon will no longer make any more Hot Ribbon.
We have a limited inventory of Hot Ribbon and will continue to sell it until we run out. Our inventory has various amounts of Hot Ribbon, depending on the color. As we run out of a color, we will delete that color from the website so it can no longer be ordered.
Our apologies to those of you who like to use Hot Ribbon for your projects. We wish also that we could continue to supply you with Hot Ribbon, but that will soon not be the case.
